Matts on the move - Fingle Bridge

  • Fingle Bridge EX6 6PW (map)

Please come and join us at the beautiful setting of Fingle Bridge at 9.30am on Sunday October 9th for a breakfast of sausages, tea and coffee round a camp fire. This will be followed by walking, frisbee throwing, challenges and games for the children - all optional and all very informal. Just sitting is fine! Please bring wellies / suitable clothing as some of the challenges may involve getting at least shin deep in the river! Really hope you can join us - all very welcome.

There are narrow lanes to negotiate beyond Crockernwell, but take care and keep going, it will be worth it. The camp fire will be over the bridge, at the end of the meadow on the left.

Postcode: EX6 6PW (approx.)

Grid Reference: SX743900

Parking: Ideally in the car park over the bridge which is near the site, but if you have a wide vehicle or are nervous about going over such a narrow bridge, you can park before the pub car park and walk. Please don’t park near the pub though.

What to bring: Suitable clothes and footwear for the weather (waterproofs if the forecast is for rain). It is Dartmoor so it is worth being prepared for changing conditions, although the site is a sheltered one.

Risks: There will be a fire and we will be near water, so please be aware of the associated risks and remember you are responsible for your children at all times.

Wet weather plan: If the forecast is very bad and we feel we need to change our plans, we will post on Facebook.

More information: If you have any questions feel free to email, phone or text on 01392-255547 / 07717-226476 (Ruth) ruthmwarne@gmail.com.
